To protect her citizens from identity theft (gee, who in the world would want to do that?), Canada guards you from that happenstance by stealing it themselves--deactivating your Social Insurance Number after 5 years of inactivity. This handy Marxian disenfranchisement means you cannot work, get medical care, educational benefits, social benefits--nothing. (I think if you get arrested, though, they lickety split admit your identity and right to be in the Crowbar Hotel). The government step-n-fetchits who get maybe 25 bucks an hour plus perquisites take ten months to issue you a new citizensip card, via which you can get your SIN re-activated. I know; it happened to me. Amanda has 45 months to go. Who will support Amanda's new Somali significant other? What about their child? Will Amanda have to go on billionaire Oprah's show just to tell her tale of how she found true love, heavenly motherhood and non-prejudiceness in Somali? Or will Parliament have to pass a special act for them, so that the especial threesome don't suffer?
