VIDEO: A Father Choked a Sexual Attacker to Death When He Broke into His Daughter's Room Naked and Tried to Rape Her.

A registered sex offender who broke into an occupied home around 3 a.m. Sunday to assault a 17-year-old girl is dead after a struggle with the girl's father, police say.

Police responding to a 911 call of a home invasion found the girl's father on the floor with his arm around the neck of a naked David Meyers, struggling to hold him down. When Robert McNally, 64, released the invader he was not responsive. Officials aren't sure if Meyers, 52, who had a history of heart disease, died of a heart attack or from being in a choke hold.

Meyers had broken into the home wearing only a mask and latex gloves and carrying rope, a knife, condoms and a gag, police said.

McNally discovered someone had broken into the home after he responded to his daughter's screams and found Meyers in his daughter's bedroom. Meyers had broken into the home through a window in a room next to the girl's bedroom and the terrified girl began screaming when she woke up and saw a naked masked man in her bedroom.

Meyers was a registered sex offender who lived down the road from the McNally family. Meyers had been released from prison two years ago after serving 10 years of a 20-year sentence for criminal confinement and sexual deviate conduct.
