After erroneously attributing spamming as being instigated by Ron Paul's official campaign rather than vigilante grassroots support, on August 17, 2007 Levin has called presidential candidate Ron Paul and his supporters idiots while giving out Ron Paul's Washington's phone numbers telling his audience to flood the Congressman's numbers.
On August 18, 2007 Levin's radio station was flooded with angry callers, supporters of Ron Paul, in retaliation of his efforts and Levin ordered the subsequent replayings and internet archive censored. Officially released recordings of the show omit any such occurence and, to the contrary, has Levin testifying that the "gutless Rupaul" fans did not make any calls that day.

He was also a contributor to The Sean Hannity Show and eventually got a radio slot of his own, on WABC, following Hannity's program. Hannity has nicknamed Levin "The Great One". Levin and Hannity remain frequent contributors to each other's programs, often calling in and facetiously referring to each other as "Doctor Hannity" or "Doctor Levin".
